On this day in 1987, actress Elizabeth Hartman, voice of Mrs Brisby – star of “THE SECRET OF NIMH”, one of my favourite films of all time – sadly jumped to her death after suffering years of depression. Let’s all take some time today to remember and think about those suffering internally, who may be fighting battles in their own hearts and heads we know nothing about. I was honoured to take part in the Rights for Life two-day conference last week to discuss with the country’s experts how to improve the Mental Health Laws and Care in this country, and to ensure Human Rights are upheld during treatment. I met wonderful people from several wonderful charities, including all the staff from Scotland’s Samaritans, and would encourage anyone struggling to reach out to such organisations:
